"Where can I find a site to chat with my webcam?" you're probably asking. That's a tough question, unfortunately, more tough than it ought to be.
You see, chatting with a webcam can be very sexy, and because of this most of the webcam chat sites are geared toward making money by allowing you to interact, sexually, with other people using their webcams. That is, you watch and tell them what to do, and they get naked on their webcam while you watch - either on their own or with a partner or partners.
Well, there's one site that I know of that doesn't allow that sort of thing and is entirely free: CamChatting. If you visit CamChatting, you'll notice that there is one pop-up advertisement for one of those adult themed chat sites, plus a link or two where people can click to visit an adult webcam chat site. Those are there to get the people to go elsewhere who are interested in such a thing. And it works: almost everyone who joins to use his or her webcam at CamChatting is a person who has no intention of using it for sexual or nudity purposes. Only about 1 in about 5000 (really!) people who puts p a cam will use it for that purpose, and that person is very quickly removed from the site.
There is a downside, however, to the chat at CamChatting, though: it can be very very boring. For reasons unknown to anyone, CamChatting has fallen to the bottom of the search engines while obnoxious porn sites dominate the top of the lists. I can only imagine that the reason for CamChatting's new low position is due to people who make money off of their porn sites being very very good at learning to keep their sites at the top. But the result is that there's very little traffic, which means that instead of having a hopping sort of "singles bar" type of atmosphere, this webcam and chatting site has more of a community type of atmosphere. It's a community that exists because there's only a few people who are willing to stick it out through the boredom long enough to get to know other long term members - and then those people tend to stay around themselves, enjoying as it said in the Cheers theme, going where everybody knows their name.
